ElectraGuard Elite ESD Flooring
for Static Control Environments
Perfect for
covering concrete, VCT, Epoxy and low performance (anti-static) vinyl
esd floors!
Today's reality dictates an increasingly daunting task.
Electrostatic thresholds are dropping significantly requiring an
unprecedented higher level of static control flooring
performance at a time when funding has become more of an issue.
Now (more than ever) ESD flooring must be selected by proven
long term performance, electrical reliability and installed
cost. In addition, esd flooring must meet the newest standards
of ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007 and be positioned to meet standards yet
to be written. It must be easy to maintain, capable of
handling a multitude of traffic, be aesthetically pleasing and
never NEVER stop working.
At United we provide the most extensive selection of static
control flooring in the industry. It's up to our clients and the
industries they represent to select the most
popular. ElectraGuard Elite; Our most popular esd floor covering
for numerous reasons. Long and Short?
You can pay more but you'll never find a better hard surface ESD
floor!

ElectraGuard was originally invented for use in DOD munitions
applications and first put to work for esd control at General
Dynamics in 1992. Over the years it was further refined with
patented advancements in structural integrity. Now? ElectraGuard
Elite is exclusive to United ESD. With no coating failures, loss of conductivity
or wear performance issues since it's inception, ElectraGuard is a proven performer at
a realistic price. Other ESD floor paints are latex / acrylic
based and may show signs of coating failure after a mere 2
years. Not so with ElectraGuard.
ElectraGuard -
Wear characteristics far superior to mere solvent based
urethanes and latex paints, rivaling those of thick set esd epoxy
flooring without the associated toxicity, disposal
considerations and environmental impact. ElectraGuard -
Powerful permanent conductivity and (unlike most esd vinyl
floors) is capable of handling forklift and other heavy duty
industrial traffic.
Leave "as is" for low glare matt finish or
top coat with ElectraThane Sealer followed by ElectraGlaze ESD
Floor Finish (the
ElectraGuard Tri-Layer Full System)
for a diamond like shine and ultimate
wear resistance.

APPLICATION OVERVIEW:
New concrete
substrates should be allowed to cure
for at least sixty days prior to application of this product. Applications to floors colder than 60 0 F is not
recommended. Sweep and vacuum flooring substrate. If contaminated
mop with, a neutral degreaser to remove oil, grease and soil. For exceedingly
smooth troweled concrete, concrete that does not readily absorb water, sealed
concrete or concrete coated with parting compounds the concrete may be etched with standard concrete etching
solutions
diluted per manufacturers recommendations, thoroughly rinse with water
and allow to dry overnight. Etching may generally be replaced by
screen disking or sanding (80 grit pads or rougher) If substrate has been previously coated, a
small area should be cleaned and roughed up by a screen disking with a 80 grit
screen. Test ElectraGuard for adhesion, lifting etc. Any areas of the
existing coating which display poor adhesion should be stripped. Wash the stripped
areas, acid rinse, thoroughly rinse with water and allow to fully dry prior
to application of ElectraGuard. Catalyzed
ElectraGuard should be used within six hours of mixing, therefore prepare only the
quantity necessary for immediate use. Add the pre-measured catalyst to epoxy
base. Stir gently until the catalyst has been thoroughly mixed in. Allow
catalyzed mixture to stand 5 minutes. Apply catalyzed material
with a short nap roller in thin uniform coats. The
initial coat will cover approximately 250 to 500 square feet
per gallon. Second coat coverage is approximately 400
to 600 square feet per gallon. A third coat
provides optimum esthetics and is highly recommended. Note:
United recommends the use of
Titanium
Mats or very soft rubberized esd chair casters when rolling
chairs directly over this product, esd vinyl tiles and esd thick set epoxy
(virtually any and all hard surface esd flooring). Soft chair casters look like hard
casters but have a very soft rubberized coating on the wheels.
ElectraGuard ESD Epoxy is a thin set
epoxy (approximately 3 to 10 mil thickness) much tougher and longer lasting than ESD paints. Due to
it's reduced solids count and thin set benefits ElectraGuard may exhibit
slight variances in texture and color depending on the substrate of
application. These variances do not affect the
excellent electrical performance or wear characteristics. This
product is available in gray, light gray, beige and green and as applied features a non glare
matt finish. Should high shine be desired consider sealing
the ElectraGuard with ElectraThane and ElectraGlaze (see
application instructions for details).

TYPICAL
MAINTENANCE:
1) Dust Mop Daily.
2) Damp mop weekly using a
diluted solution of ElectraClean and water. Note: Never use plain water
or other floor cleaning chemicals as this may leave an insulative
residue.
3) Auto Scrub every two months or
as needed to remove ground in dirt and contaminants, start with lightest pad
possible.
4) As needed: high speed polish
using a white or champagne colored pad and ElectraShine polishing spray.
5) As needed (about every
year or two). Follow the ESD floor care procedure as listed at:
